Thought not a rare coin, I still had to have this one. I fell in love with the portrait. The coin is in excellent condition for a coin that is almost 2000 years old. I find the portraits on these early portraits of Domitian to be very interesting. This coin was struck not long after the death of Titus, Domitian's brother and the most recent Roman emperor. There is a lot of variety in the portraits for Domitian's first year. I have a number of these coin already posted here. If interested find the other denarii that were struck in 81 CE. The other reason I bought it was that i dod not have it!
