Though this coin is definitely not what I usually collect I had to have to for 2 reasons. First, it is just a lovely coin. A great crisp portrait and an interesting reverse type. Second this coin is a plate coin. I have several plate coins and I love owning a coin that has made an appearance in a published reference. This coin in number 8.01.009 in the reference "The London mint of Constantius and Constantine".

I have wanted a nice London mint Constantine for a while and this one has satisfied that particular want. This coin was purchased from Lee Toone the co-author of the reference mentioned above. He still have a few plate coins available if anyone is interested. He shipped quickly and was a true gentleman to deal with. I cannot recommend him strongly enough.

In the meantime this coin will take its place in my collection beside my other plate coins.
